Learn More AboutOur Theme for 2018

This year’s theme for the ILEAD conference is “In Pursuit of Excellence.”  We learn from the Qur’an and Sunnah that we should always aim to be our very best. This lesson enforces the idea that as Muslims we should strive to be the best we can be and do good in all aspects of our lives. Not only in physical worship, but also in our manners and interaction.

What doesILEAD Stand For?

The aim of the conference is to engage, empower and support the Muslim community to work together and actively participate in building a vibrant community and a greater Canada while maintaining a Muslim Identity. The ILEAD conference was created and is run by the United Muslim Organizations of Ottawa - Gatineau (UMO-OG). It is an initiative that acts as a coordinating group for the 12 prominent Islamic organizations in the National Capital Region.

While each member organization is operated independently, the UMO facilitates important collaboration in areas such as education, social services, charitable works, public relations and large community events such as the ILEAD conference. ILEAD stands for Islam, Learn, Engage, Achieve, and Develop.
